Non Ditelo a Nessuno eng
“A young musician imagines himself on stage and falls asleep. With the first song, Effimero, the listener is drawn into his dream and into the storyline of Non ditelo a nessuno, the 2006 concept album created with Nicola Bortone. Passing through a tavern (Non ditelo a nessuno), he ends up playing alongside a group of decadent singers inside a workshop (La bottega di Jubal, father of harp players), where he continues his apprenticeship in exchange for a few coins (Ride bene chi ride ultimo). But that night, among strange and shady characters, the ‘foolish’ tavern transforms into an arena filled with people (Venite avanti). The dream of glory has become reality, but it brings to the stage new and unexpected greedy figures. Industry insiders, record producers, and agents appear in the guise of vultures (Panta rei), while the protagonist painfully realizes the loss of his freedom. This leads into the second part of the work, where the musical atmosphere takes on much darker and more distressing tones, such as the ones about to be described. The dream becomes an increasingly murky nightmare (Danza soddisfatta), esoteric and blasphemous (Il primo giorno). Only in the finale does some relief appear, when the young musician awakens and contemplates, in the first star of the morning, the beauty of that peace he had secretly longed for (Iride).”
